In the early 1970s, OTTO FUCHS developed the so-called baroque rim in collaboration with Mercedes. This aluminum wheel was the first forged wheel to be mass-produced in Meinerzhagen.
The baroque rim, also known as the “baroque wheel”, is an iconic design that is particularly associated with classic Mercedes-Benz models.
These rims, which were introduced in the 1970s and 1980s, are characterized by their distinctive, baroque look, which gave them their name.
The first models of these wheels could be found on the Mercedes W109 in the sizes 5½J x 14 and 6J x 14 and later on the Mercedes 123, after which they were replaced by the famous “Gullideckel wheels”, which were also manufactured by OTTO FUCHS and used on the Mercedes W126. With a market presence of 15 years, the baroque FUCHSFELGE on the Mercedes became a classic.
To this day, the baroque wheel is synonymous with the Mercedes brand and has become a classic in its own right.
